Five of Our Favorite Things About the Cadillac LYRIQ

Cadillac has been making some of the most gorgeous, luxurious, and innovative vehicles on the road for over a century. With the electric market starting to rear its head in recent years, it was no surprise when Cadillac revealed the stunning all-electric LYRIQ and unleashed a banquet of incredible features for us to sink our teeth into. Today, we thought it would be fun to celebrate the LYRIQ and some of our favorite things about it. Thing #1 – The Choreographed Exterior Lighting

Okay, so admittedly, this isn’t something that will dramatically transform your driving experience each day, but we can’t help ourselves with this one. Sometimes, you just want to see a car company show that they love their vehicles as much as you do, which is precisely what we have here. Every model has exterior lighting that automatically comes on when the key fob is within six feet of the vehicle, and you can also activate it manually or turn it off entirely if you prefer.

The Tech trim goes beyond simple automatic lighting and includes animated, choreographed lighting that greets you every time you approach your ride. This starts at the front with the Cadillac emblem, then radiates outward across the front grille, going to the headlamps that come on with animated illumination to create an eye-catching display. The lighting then moves to the side door handles, illuminating them so it’s easy to get into your vehicle before ending at the rear tail lamps with animation similar to the front lighting. As we said, this is not at all essential regarding features, but it’s the perfect example of how Cadillac has gone above and beyond the ordinary with the LYRIQ to create something truly dazzling.

Thing #2 – The Super Cruise Hands-Free Driving System

Animated exterior lighting might not transform how you drive, but Cadillac’s remarkable Super Cruise system certainly can. While other brands have talked a lot about self-driving technology, Cadillac has pushed forward closer than others with the Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system. This is true, hands-free driving that lets you release the steering wheel and safely drive on vast swaths of roads across North America. While you still have to stay focused on the road, your Cadillac LYRIQ can take care of everything else, from accelerating and braking to staying safely with the flow of traffic to handling curves and even changing lanes when necessary.

In fact, Cadillac has been improving the Super Cruise system to be better than it was when it was first released, such as adding the ability to indicate you want your vehicle to change lanes, and having it do so for you when it’s safe. Drivers have enjoyed more than 34 million miles of hands-free driving using Super Cruise, demonstrating that it’s safe, effective, and reliable. Currently, Super Cruise is compatible with more than 400,000 miles of roads across the US and Canada, with plans to increase that to more than 700,000 miles throughout 2025. Thing #3 – Incredible Range, Remarkable Power

One of the things people worry about with EVs like this is how well they drive and how far they can go on a full battery. The Cadillac LYRIQ immediately puts both concerns to rest with one of the auto industry’s most impressive electric propulsion systems. You can choose from a single-motor rear-wheel drive (RWD) model that provides 340 hp and 325 lb-ft of near-instant torque or a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) configuration that delivers a remarkable 500 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque. This is driving taken to the next level, with a sophisticated suspension, electronic precision shifting, and much more for you to enjoy.

There’s no reason to worry about range with the LYRIQ no matter which model you choose, though there’s a slight difference between them. A single-motor RWD model can go an estimated 314 miles from a full charge, while choosing an AWD version lowers that to just 307 miles in exchange for all that power. You can get through your daily commute, run errands, and even head out on a long road trip in the LYRIQ without worrying about your range. Regenerative braking helps maximize this range, while one-pedal driving is perfect for heavy traffic and similar conditions that can be stressful in other vehicles.

Thing #4 – Stunning Interior Details and Finish

Although we’re not writers or poets here at Snell Cadillac, we still think we describe the vehicles we sell well. Thing #5 – A Work of Art on the Road

While Cadillac has overlooked nothing regarding the interior of the LYRIQ, the outside is just as stunning and sophisticated. The dramatically illuminated Black Crystal Shield that replaces a traditional grille that you find on other vehicles makes an immediate visual impact and demands the attention of everyone around you. LED projector slimline headlamps are part of its signature lighting design, and we’ve already talked about the available animated startup sequence. Still, even when they’re just on, they look amazing. Similarly, the available LED vertical tail lamps come to life in a way that’s both easily visible for other drivers and dramatic, evoking a sense of style few other vehicles come close to. Plus, Sport models feature Obsidian chrome and dark accent finishes on the body and wheels, setting them apart and demonstrating how even the most beautiful vehicle on the road can be elevated higher.
